Elementary students' functional thinking in solving context-based linear pattern problems

[English]: This study aims to identify elementary students’ functional thinking in solving context-based linear pattern problems. It involved 65 fifth-grade students who had not learned generalizing patterns topic. Data was collected through tests and interviews. Students with correct answers on the test were grouped into three categories based types of use representations. Interviews conducted selected their relating actions reflections. The findings showed that are able think functionally consisting types: recursive-verbal, correspondence-verbal, recursive correspondence-symbolic. verbal add up same numbers repeatedly represent generalization results verbally. For correspondence-verbal students, relationship between two quantities a certain is determined represented having correspondence-symbolic develop then continue correspondence symbolically. action reflection also identified thinking. [Bahasa]: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi proses berpikir fungsional siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD) dalam menyelesaikan soal pola linier berbasis konteks.
